Skaneateles Psychology Associates is happy to announce Stephanie Rabin Scherr, PhD as our new Clinical Director. Dr. Scherr will be responsible for oversight of clinical treatment. Dr. Scherr brings to this position her prior experience as the Clinical Director of a large, multi-location group practice in the Philadelphia area. It is with much warmth and enthusiasm that we welcome Dr. Scherr into this position. Her outstanding clinical skills, leadership, and commitment to exemplary patient care will further the mission of the practice.
Dr. Stephanie Rabin Scherr is a licensed clinical psychologist with extensive experience treating adults, college age students, and adolescents with OCD, social anxiety disorder, panic disorder, phobias, generalized anxiety disorder, separation anxiety disorder, insomnia, PTSD, and tic disorders. She also specializes in treating body-focused repetitive behaviors such as trichotillomania (hair pulling), excoriation (skin picking), and nail biting. She utilizes various evidence-based cognitive behavioral therapies (CBTs), including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Prolonged Exposure (PE), Cognitive Therapy (CT), and CBT for Insomnia. In addition, Dr. Scherr offers counseling for clients struggling with infertility. Dr. Scherr has provided psychological services in a wide variety of settings, including outpatient clinics, hospitals, research clinics, and private practice.
Dr. Scherr earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Drexel University and her Bachelor of Science from Cornell University. Dr. Scherr has been involved in clinical research since 2006 and has presented at national and local conferences. She completed a research fellowship at the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) and has published original research in several peer-reviewed journals.
