Skaneateles Psychology Associates is very pleased to present a new offering for graduate students and early career clinicians: psychoanalytic individual supervision with Louis Scuderi, LCSW.
We believe it is highly beneficial to get additional supervision in the early stages of training, since there’s so much to learn and lots of opportunity to build one’s foundation as a therapist. Few graduate school and agency supervisors are psychoanalytically oriented and are often in dual roles, which complicates the supervisory process. Louis knows that sharing one’s work can feel vulnerable and is happy to offer a safe and supportive learning environment. Your work with Louis work will be strictly in the service of your development as a therapist, and cover areas such as:
Learning the basics of psychoanalytic technique
Addressing common issues that come up in treatment
Building confidence in oneself and developing one’s own style of working
Understanding theory and how to apply it
Cultivating a psychoanalytic attitude that can be used inside and outside of clinical work
Louis has completed psychoanalytic and psychodynamic therapy training programs at the Karen Horney and Object Relations Institute in New York City, and have worked as a therapist in a variety of settings for nine years. Louis has extensive knowledge of the history of psychoanalysis and the clinical application of different theoretical approaches, especially the work of Freud, Winnicott, Bion, and André Green.
Price: $65 per session for students and new clinicians.
